Google Art

Google's variations on its logo for special events and holidays are now probably as familiar as the Google logo itself for millions of users worldwide.

You can head over here and see how Google has been marking events and anniversaries for more than 10 years.

For more on the inspiration and philosophy behind them, Micheal Lopez, the web designer in charge of the team responsible for the logos, has given an interview on CNN.com.

One thing common to all logos is apparently that the word 'Google' must always feature and be recognisable. Tip: if this isn't obvious, try clicking the logo.

And if you ever wondered how the original Google logo came into being, Ruth Kedar, the designer charged with the brief, explains all.
